after fully 100% the game and going through the five stages of grief several times over, i genuinely enjoyed this game. even if i wasnt familiar with the games that timber has previously appeared in, i still enjoyed the hell out of the twists and the absolutely wonderful writing and depth of each character, especially coming from someone who hasnt seen anything about them before. that and i appreciated the hell out of the timeline and save files. made everything so much easier. overall, great game, and it was so worth staying up dead hours of the night for.
i hope he will appear in more games but he has been added to one of the creators rpg games and originally was a side character in one of the other games i think the cute one with curry and then got his own game
Hello Nami! I was glad to play such a good game and wonder, if I can help you with translate it on Russian? Just reply this comment or sent on my email: First - cyxapuk2483@gmail.com Second - zuksya@proton.me
OMFGGGG, okay, I just finished the game, and I'm no writer or nothing, but dude (also minor spoilers). Those loveable fuckers have more depth than most b-lister movies, especially the eviler ones. And, no matter how much I hated the big bad bun bun, he was one of my favorites just because of how well written the character was. Though I hated playing as him. I cannot fully articulate how amazing this game was, it truly is an experience, I will never stop loving our favorite game dev, nomnomnami <3
i’ve noticed this hitching for like 5-10 seconds at the first letter of some lines (not any specifically, just at random) on linux (both wine and native). i haven’t tested on windows, but i haven’t had this happen with any other renpy games/VNs so far. i’ve noticed that it hitches much more frequently on native than with wine.
edit: im wondering if this might be a bug specific to the version of renpy shipped with this VN. this is the newest renpy game/VN i’ve played, so it’s possible that a bug got introduced recently. ill do some testing later to see what’s up with this specifically :P
This game really made me think about how good games are as a story medium. Because even though the story already exists, and is also fictional, clicking through the routes while the characters I was playing as kept doing worse and worse things... I really felt that I was the one choosing to play the game, and effectively choosing to "do" it all to Timber. I considered just not finishing the game a few times, but I also wanted to see how it'd end... I played the Lonely Wolf Treat series, so I didn't expect the game to be sunshine and rainbows, but I also didn't expect it to get this dark. Great work Nami, I'll need time to get over this T-T
Btw if anything happens to Twigs, I'll kill everyone in the room and then myself. They're just so precious!
Nami, I LOVE your games and I want to play this one, but I don't know much English But I want to enjoy the game as much as possible. Please translate into Portuguese PLSSS!! ♡
well it makes sense though. lore is that bunnies have generational trauma and powerful instincts, so seeing a wolf chasing you it would be almost impossible not to run from him. death is an unfortunate consequence of blindly running for an extended period of time in the snowy wilderness :/
I don't know if my comment went through or not, I regret the comment I made before (please delete it). I just wanted to say that the game is absolutely incredible! Seriously, I came with one thought and it brought me a completely different one (in a positive way). This is so beautiful! I'm really going to make lots of fanart about it. 5 starrrsssss!!!:D
This game is depressing af but so good because of that, thank you for subverting my expectations. Seeing the reviews I was even worried the wolf would be some perpetrator of fucked up police violence rape, but watching the story unravel proved the exact opposite. I'm about to visit the captor route fully and I'm hopeful it'll be handled with the same respect as the rest of the story, really good overall though just truly I love it, and the themes definitely matter in the current age we're living in (not only indigenous genocide and displacement worldwide but uhh themes of police brutality look eerily similar to a certain gestapo like group in America rn) As a black person also police brutality is a very personal subject and once again it was handled pretty well imo
I LOVE THIS GAME AHHHH ALSO TIMBER IS SO CUTE DAWG at the ending I was shocked thought Timber was dead(which he wasn't) suddenly ending song started playing. I was confused, volume up, then screamed like "TETO?! OH HELL YEAHH" I love this
semi spoiler ahead? (No major plot revealed, just a general review)
To be deadass though, this game in general is so much deeper than I anticipated upon first glance. Based on the title and the first part of the description, it comes off as if it were only an 18+ dating sim (???), but I became hooked as I realized there was much more to this game than that (still love the 18+ elements though >:]). I love how unlocking and choosing a different character gives you a new perspective on Timber; the ability to see him in a way you wouldn't have been able to had you been playing as a different character is a really neat detail and storytelling tool. It was also so amazing to me how everything (mainly the beginning routes) tied in together near the end with the later routes, which really elevated and made those initial interactions feel more important and relevant to the story, even by the end of it.
Overall 10/10! Can't wait for the sequel :] (also the fact that you make the art, music, and develop this by yourself is insane, how do you do it? 😭)
I LOVE YOUR GAMES Sm I just want one thing, I want to make games because of you (they are so perfect and I thought I should get permission ) CAN I MAKE MY FIRST GAME BY LOOKİNG AT YOUR GAME DYNAMİCS ??? I LOVE HOW YOU DESIGN THEM. Don't worry, I'll make my own characters, my own story, my own drawings. I just want to get a reference for the game system <33
Normally, most stories about 'fantastic prejudice' go out of their way to show to prejudice is wrong because prejudice is wrong.
Given that the rabbits have genuine reasons to be afraid (completely terrified) of being eaten by wolves given half a chance...
In the alternate route for Lonely Wolf Treat, Treat did go native with Timber's pack, which went as well as expected, given that Treat went along with scavenging until it went pear shaped.
The setup with the items and characters in the rabbit / witch / wolf routes worked well in tying in with the Osmanthus / Senbei / Black Rabbit Routes, especially the lighter.
It makes sense that someone would eventually come to investigate all of the 'accidents.'
Osmanthus was a neat character, more than capable of manhandling Timber with ease. Big breath of fresh air compared to the previous route intros.
Senbei, as an antagonist / villainous pov character... is refreshing in that he doesn't bother to hide behind a tragic backstory like Timber and Tundra. A rabbit villain doing things because he wants to... stands out in sea of itch.io visual novel characters.
The black rabbit route intro was funny as it's the one where Timber runs for his life this time.
"I used to think it was fun, using their own fear against 'em. And the only reason it stopped bein' fun... is cuz I got caught."
Of course Twigs and Plum are automatically sympathetic to the scavengers, but at least Tofu's death wasn't completely pointless in the end.
clicked this after reading the full foxy catch through.... and what started off as a silly little game that i was finding fun and telling my friends about as i went along turned into 2 hours of radio silence in part 2.
i was not expecting this to be one of my favourite games ive played so far. wow.

why does it switch from “The Wolf” to his name here? (bunny continue to run route)
oops, thanks for pointing this out, it'll be fixed in the next update!
Brutal, sobrou nada pro beta.
I loved the prose, one of the best VN writings I've ever played.

"exactly" what I also thought.
Star Fox Command was inspiration!? Not what I expected.

This game is fucking goated

The presented themes are... something.

how do I get the "if it's for warmth...' subending?? I'm following the timeline's steps but I can't do it... nomnom please...
make sure you're not on the romance route, i think that should help!
"Witch"/"Human" > "To meet you/hiking" (it doesn't matter) > "Ask what he's doing" > "stop somewhere close" > "Stay" > "food" (whatever food, I chose noodles). The option should pop up.
Witch is "I'll keep YOU warm".
